Two founding principal designers, Susan Schwab of Creative Environments and Kristi Dinner of company kd, llc have joined together to combine their years of experience and creativity.The talent behind this new team dynamic will take company kd, llc to a new level of expertise for our clients.

Kristi Dinner – Principal
Blessed with a limitless imagination, an innate eye for beauty and design aesthetic brimming with soul and stylish sophistication, Kristi Dinner’s professional experience as an interior designer of residential and commercial spaces spans more then 25 years.
In 1994, she founded the interior design firm company kd, llc which specializes in luxury residential living spaces. Since then, she and her team have created some of the best-dressed interiors in the country, all marked by their captivating color palettes, timeless allure and vibrant personalities.
An avid global traveler with a passion for exploring other cultures, Dinner is adept at sourcing the best fittings from around the world to make each living space inviting, personal and unique. While her interiors are designed to provoke the spirit, quicken the pulse, and rouse the imagination, she takes great pride in ensuring that they are also functional, comfortable, and accurately reflect her clients experiences, needs and lifestyles.
Dinner has re-imagined the visual landscape on a diverse array of award-winning projects. Under her leadership, company kd has received several industry awards from venerable organizations such as The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), and the Colorado Awards for Remodeling Excellence (CARE).
The firm’s work has also been featured in a variety of national publications such as Home, Women’s Day, and Better Homes and Gardens, as well as regional publications including 5280 and Colorado Homes & Lifestyles.
Prior to launching her Denver-based firm, Dinner honed her skills in Los Angeles working with Tosh Yamashita, an internationally recognized designer who was the creative inspiration behind the interiors of Neiman Marcus and Gump’s of San Francisco. While in Los Angeles, she also spent several years lending her versatile creativity to various film and television projects as a set decorator.
Kristi received her graduate degree from The New York School of Interior Design and is currently an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers. She is particularly proud of her Mediterranean bungalow home in Congress Park that her maternal grandparents built in 1928, the year they were engaged. She shares her home with her beloved dog Lulu and spirited cat Matisse.

Susan founded her business over 20 years ago and is a full service interior design firm. She specializes in luxury residential interior design and has experience in all areas of interior design including new construction, renovation, and interior decoration. Susan strives to excel in every phase of interior design; working in conjunction with the client, architect, and contractor to produce the ultimate design.
Our goal is to balance design elements with your unique lifestyle and interests to create a home that combines function with character and style. Whether formal, eclectic, a mountain retreat, or contemporary, we aim to satisfy our clients. Our design philosophy is grounded in the integrity of great design combined with the emotional response that good design evokes and the practicality of a design that ultimately transforms a house into a home.
From an early age, Susan was intrigued with elements of design and color which directed her to select Interior Design as her ultimate profession. Susan’s innate ability to see the “whole picture”, while creating environments that evoke drama and serenity has helped to make her successful.
Susan established Creative Environments in 1984. Prior to launching her own design firm, Susan worked for Aiello and Associates doing hospitality design around the country. Her education includes Tufts University in Massachusetts, with a degree in Occupational Therapy, and a degree in Interior Design from IDI, in Colorado. Utilizing her knowledge of the medical field and her background in Occupational Therapy, Susan has designed and space planned numerous medical and dental facilities.
Susan grew up in Colorado, but her love of travel and exploration has helped her incorporate design elements from near and far. Susan lives with her husband and has two daughters.
Kim – Business Manager and Drag Racer
Kim is a Colorado native and CU graduate. When she’s not crunching numbers in our office, you may spot her in her “beautiful orange with subtle gold-fleck” modified ’63 Nova. Kim’s knowledge is priceless to company kd, llc. Her passion for accounting and business management is energizing and a crucial component to our business. She introduces life and vitality to our business and sustains successful business management practices that promote continued growth.
Melinda – Project Manager
Melinda has worked within our industry for many years and has tremendous experience dealing with order processing, manufactures, customer service and on-going account management. She is a natural at multitasking with amazing attention to detail, she enjoys putting her business skills to work and as Project Manager, Melinda is responsible for the overall leadership of the office/administrative department and manages the many varieties of our client affairs.
Heather – Bookkeeper
A laughter-loving Aurora native and veteran violinist, Heather is a true connoisseur of collaboration who finds inspiration in the diversity of our collective strengths and joy in our team-orientated approach. While she is known for her out-of-this-world organizational skills and meticulous planning abilities, we also admire her for her positive attitude and propensity to see the best in people.
Toni Wallace – Project Assistant and Marketing Management
Toni plays a key role in creating client proposals and focuses on client needs and provides prompt turnaround on requests. Toni is also responsible in managing marketing and outreach efforts. Toni’s responsibilities have included enhancing website communication, creating useful publications and mailers, and managing contact lists.
Noah Roberts – Interior Architect
Noah graduated with an architectural degree from the University of Colorado, and has been contracting as an interior architect for the last 6 years. He assists with the drawing of plans, elevations and the details that help the overall design intent come together! Coordinating schedules is a crucial component and Noah gathers information such as tile, plumbing and other various aspects that help keep us on track.
Kristin DiSanto -Design Assistant
Kristin’s love for design started at a young age and has been driven by her passion for colors, furniture, and lighting. Her degree in interior design will be complete in December of 2012. She started with company kd, llc as an intern and has experienced an abundance of tools that will kick-off her career into high gear!
